committees
Committees and task
groups may be appointed by the President, but shall include these standing committees:
community witness committee
The primary purpose of
this committee is the planning and coordinating of annual worship and celebration events
promoted and conducted by the Council. Such worship and celebration events of the
Council include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Martin Luther King
Celebration,
Good Friday Services,
Thanksgiving services,
and
an annual State of the
Neighborhood celebration
community concerns committee
The primary purpose of
this committee is to initiate and coordinate the various council activities and programs
operating to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the neighborhood. Task groups
of this committee include, but are not limited to:
Youth,
Emergency or Temporary
Housing and
Economic and Social
Justice
nominating committee
The purpose is to conduct an annual nomination and election of officers of the
Council.
finance committee
This committee prepares a budget for the Council; executes a fee schedule for
member and associate member organizations. The finance committee is composed of the
Senior Pastor of each member congregation or his/her designee, the Treasurer of the
Council, and the Council President. The President of the Council is the chair of the
committee. The committee meets a minimum of twice annually.
